BOOFest - Sunday, October 19th to Benefit Feed-a-Smile!

The fires have been banked and the stories are being polished and ready.  BOOFest is raring to celebrate its fourth year of spooky stories shared 'round the virtual fire to raise money for good causes in the corporeal world.

This year, we will be at a Lavender Fields, on a wonderful spooky festival set created by Dubhna Rhiadra, and all donations from BOOFest will benefit Live and Learn in Kenya’s “Feed a Smile” program

Festivities will begin at 10am SLT and conclude around 3pm (technical difficulties not withstanding) and all stories will be presented live, in voice.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Feed%20A%20Smile/59/20/24

SCHEDULE
All times SLT and always subject to change without notice, because "stuff" happens.

10:00 am - Dubhna Rhiadra
Dubhna is not only a reader of soulful and memorable style, but is also a creator of original tales, and a self-published author.  This year she'll be sharing some of her own stories - a perfect way to begin our BOOFest celebration. Some of her published works can be found on Amazon and AmazonUK.

10:30am - Shandon Loring
A lover of tales of all kinds, Shandon has a particular affinity for stories with Mythical or legendary origins (especially Celtic) or tales which fall into the broad category of "gothic horror."  He has presented many stories by the likes of H.P. Lovecraft, Joseph Sheridan LeFanu, and of course Edgar Allan Poe.  At this year's BOOFest he shares Tales from the Shadows.

11:00am - Bhelanna Blaze
Bhelanna stays very busy!  She is  a Flash Fiction Writer, Playwright, Voice Actor, Director, Dramaturge Founder of Cold Shot Play Readers and Cold Shot Flash & Dash for Writers. This year she shares:
    ~ Chupacobra by Bhelanna Blaze
Hi There Sweetie by Michael Johnston
~ A Date with Doors by Bhelanna Blaze
    ~ Crossover by Octavia Butler

11:30am - BigRed Coyote
This year, BigRed brings The Phantom Regiment of Killiecrankie to the festival fire.
"Many are the stories that have from time to time been circulated with regard to the haunting of the Pass of Killiecrankie by phantom soldiers, but I do not think there is any stranger story than that related to me, some years ago, by a lady who declared she had actually witnessed the phenomena. Her account of it I shall reproduce as far as possible in her own words:"

Noon - Moon Aerandir
as read by Dubhna Rhiadra and Caledonia Skytower
This is Moon's first time at a StoryFest event. In Real Life, Moon lives in UK on a writers grant more commonly known as a "retirement pension," wherein he writes fantasy and poetry. He is very active at dreamingpath.wordpress.com. His works available on Kindle and paperback at Amazon include The Raven and the Storyteller, The Moonlight Lamp - a poetry collection, and Thirty Poems. In Second Life he serves as a Bard of Avilion and of Caelestium. Dubhna and Cale will present his tales The Drowned Sailor, and Halloween Woods.

12:30pm - Gyro Muggins
Gyro is best know as a slightly eccentric steampunk inventor, taking many interesting and diverse forms; and also as a connoisseur of classic science fiction which he shares most weeks at Seanchai Library.  This year he shares another great classic from the works of Ambrose Bierce - An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge.

1:00pm - Aoife
Aoife has a love of a wide range of classic works, with a definite preference to the Fae and Fantastic. We are glad to welcome her back to the festival fire, and her readings are always sensual delights.  This year she brings selections from Bram Stoker's Dracula to share.

1:30pm - Corwyn Allen
Corwyn is well known as a poet, actor, creator, and serves as Managing Director for Avatar Repertory Theater.  He can be found most Sundays at Seanchai Library's popular TEA TIME at Baker Street, where he provides the voice of "The Great Detective.". He brings a selection of stories and poems to this year's festival, including:
~ Nyarlathoteop by H.P. Lovecraft
~ The Elfin Artist by Alfred Noyes
~ The Madness of Andelspritz by Lord Dunsany
~ The Fairies by Wm. Allingham
~ The Unhappy Body by Dunsany
~ The Fairy Reel by Neil Gaiman

2:00pm - Freda Frostbite
Freda is a gifted author, artist, and creator in many different endeavors, and has been a staple at StoryFest events since the very first festival.  This year she reads from her most recently released collection of short stories Under the Sheets. You can find her online at  A Poet's Progress and follow her many literary adventures.

2:30pm - Crap Mariner
It would just not be a BOOFest without the appearance of the Prim Reaper.  Crap's involvement and support of StoryFest events goes way back to the very beginning, and has never, ever waned.  Always unpredictable and irreverent, no subject is too sacred, no cow too holy for Crap not to pull it out, examine it, and bang it on the table a few times before putting it back where he found it - albeit slightly crumpled. Long ago, he swore an oath to write a 100 word story every day until the day he died. He's not dead yet! http://oneadayuntilthedayidie.com/

3:00pm - Caledona Skytower
StoryFest Founder, Seanchai Library Lead and Author Caledonia admits that her spooky stories are really not of the "blood-guts-and-entrails" class. She's written a ghost-spooky story a year for the past three years, which might be best classified as "spooky sweet."  She shares one of two stories from this year - The Blackberry.  You can follow her author self at JDCStoryteller or at her Amazon Author Page.
